S\u00f6dra was the first to announce the price increases last week , and VVDS, Mellanskog and Norra Skog have since joined in.<span id=\"more-37460\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>VVDS will increase the price it pays its members for softwood fiber by 40 kronor, or approximately 3.60 euros per cubic meter, and the price it pays for birch fiber by 30 kronor, or approximately 2.70 euros per cubic meter. The price of softwood fiber will thus rise to 675 kronor, or approximately 60.40 euros per cubic meter, and the price of birch fiber to 665 kronor, or approximately 59.50 euros per cubic meter.<\/p>\n<p>VVDS will increase the price of spruce logs by 200 kroons, or approximately 17.90 euros per cubic meter, and pine logs by 150 kroons, or approximately 13.40 euros per cubic meter. The price paid for small logs will increase by 120 kroons, or approximately 10.70 euros per cubic meter, for both spruce and pine.<\/p>\n<p>Mellanskog is also increasing the price it pays for softwood fiber by 40 kronor, or about 3.60 euros. This will bring the company's price for softwood fiber to 640 kronor, or about 57.20 euros, per cubic meter.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to softwood fiber, Mellanskog is raising the price of energy wood. The increase is 60 kronor, or approximately 5.40 euros per cubic meter, which means that the company will now pay 550 kronor, or approximately 49.20 euros per cubic meter, for energy wood.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to wood prices, Mellanskog is also raising the surcharge it pays for soil bearing capacity. The company says the goal is to encourage forest owners to invest in their forest roads, which would ensure the availability of timber in changing climate conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Norra Skog, in turn, is raising the price of poles.
