Ponsse estimates that the difficulties in the forest industry were reflected in the sales of forest machines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year was challenging for Ponsse. The forest machinery manufacturer's operating profit fell by more than a fifth to 37 million euros and net sales decreased to 750 million euros, which is almost 9 percent less than the previous year.<\/p>\n

Due to the geopolitical situation, there was a lot of uncertainty in the markets.<\/p>\n

\"The difficulties in our clear business drivers, the sawmill industry and the chemical forest industry, were reflected in forest machine sales. Our customers' investment decision-making slowed down,\" says Ponsse CEO Juho Nummela in a press release.<\/p>\n

The share of international operations in net sales decreased to 74 percent. The share of Nordic and Baltic countries in net sales increased to 46 percent.<\/p>\n

The challenging market situation weakened the company's order book. As a result, the Vierem\u00e4 factory had to adjust its operations towards the end of the year. However, the number of machines completed last year was reasonably good considering the situation, with sales being successful during the second half of the year, Nummela says.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
