These price increases were observed across all regions, according to the Swedish Forest Agency's statistics on roundwood prices for delivery timber.<\/p>\n<p>The annual average price for pine and spruce sawlogs rose nationwide by 30 percent in 2024. The most significant increase was recorded in Svealand, where prices surged by 34 percent, while the smallest rise was in Norra Norrland, at 12 percent.<\/p>\n<p>For pulpwood from coniferous and broad-leaved trees, the average price increased by 18 percent in 2024. The highest price growth occurred in G\u00f6taland, with a 19 percent rise, whereas Norra Norrland saw the smallest increase at 10 percent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/sawlog-2.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37220\" src=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/sawlog-2-300x136.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"476\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/sawlog-2-300x136.jpg 300w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/sawlog-2-768x348.jpg 768w, https:\/\/timberindustrynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/sawlog-2.jpg 774w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The timber volumes underlying these statistics represent sales of delivery timber, which have declined by more than half over the past two decades for both sawlogs and pulpwood. Delivery timber remains a minor share of total timber sales, with the total volume of sawlogs and pulpwood recorded in the 2024 statistics amounting to just over 2 million cubic meters solid volume under bark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Continued price increases in Q4 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alongside the annual statistics for 2024, data for the fourth quarter of 2024 was also released. As in the third quarter, delivery timber prices for both sawlogs and pulpwood continued to rise. Overall, sawlog prices increased by nearly 8 percent in Q4 compared to Q3 2024. The most significant rise was in G\u00f6taland, at 11 percent, while prices in S\u00f6dra Norrland increased by just under 7 percent.
