In value terms, exports totaled \u20ac2.98 billion, representing a 2% increase compared to \u20ac2.92 billion in the same period of 2023. The European Union, Sweden\u2019s largest market, experienced a slight decline of 4% in volume, with exports totaling 5.91 million cubic meters, but saw a 2% increase in value to \u20ac1.62 billion. Exports to the UK increased by 1% in volume to 2.51 million cubic meters and by 5% in value to \u20ac697.7 million, partially offsetting reductions in other European markets.<\/p>\n<p>Shipments to Germany fell by 7% in volume to 584,113 cubic meters, while the Netherlands and Denmark experienced decreases of 2% and 4% in volume, respectively, but recorded growth in value terms, with the Netherlands increasing by 7% to \u20ac219.5 million and Denmark rising by 4% to \u20ac157.5 million. In contrast, Poland recorded a 7% growth in volume and a 7% increase in value, with exports reaching 323,465 cubic meters and \u20ac83.3 million. Other European Union destinations collectively saw a 15% decline in volume and a 2% drop in value. Among other European countries, exports to Norway decreased by 5% in volume to 636,977 cubic meters but grew by 4% in value to \u20ac204.4 million, while Turkey recorded a significant drop of 28% in volume and 16% in value. Conversely, exports to Iceland and Cyprus grew by 10% and 17% in volume, respectively, and by 17% and 19% in value, though from smaller bases.<\/p>\n<p>In North Africa, exports decreased slightly by 3% in volume, totaling 1.99 million cubic meters, but increased by 13% in value to \u20ac396.6 million. Exports to Egypt rose by 2% in volume and 21% in value, reaching 1.21 million cubic meters and \u20ac218.5 million. Shipments to Algeria dropped by 8% in volume and 2% in value, while Libya saw an 11% decline in volume but a 1% increase in value. Tunisia experienced the sharpest decline in the region, with a 45% reduction in volume and a 37% drop in value, falling to 56,413 cubic meters and \u20ac10.9 million. Exports to Morocco remained stable in volume at 313,882 cubic meters but surged by 29% in value to \u20ac68.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>Swedish exports to North America decreased by 9% in volume to 966,278 cubic meters and by 8% in value to \u20ac261.6 million. The United States accounted for the vast majority of these shipments, with exports falling by 9% in both volume and value to 964,455 cubic meters and \u20ac261.2 million. Canada, however, saw an increase of 46% in volume, albeit from a smaller base, reaching 1,822 cubic meters, though its value decreased slightly by 4% to \u20ac406,520.<\/p>\n<p>In the Near and Middle East, exports declined by 16% in volume to 355,663 cubic meters and by 11% in value to \u20ac84.1 million. Saudi Arabia, the largest market in the region, saw a modest increase of 3% in volume and 10% in value, reaching 236,217 cubic meters and \u20ac56 million. Jordan recorded a 5% growth in volume and a 7% increase in value, while exports to Israel and Yemen dropped significantly by 48% and 85% in volume, and by 41% and 86% in value, respectively. Exports to the United Arab Emirates surged by 437% in volume and 314% in value, although the total volume and value remained relatively small at 5,000 cubic meters and \u20ac1 million.<\/p>\n<p>Exports to Asian markets fell by 14% in volume, with total shipments amounting to 1.43 million cubic meters, and by 1% in value to \u20ac370.1 million. Japan emerged as a bright spot, with exports surging by 32% in volume and 36% in value to 751,011 cubic meters and \u20ac219.7 million. In contrast, exports to China plummeted by 51% in volume and 44% in value, totaling 325,900 cubic meters and \u20ac64.1 million. South Korea experienced a 23% decline in volume and a 16% drop in value, while exports to India remained stable in volume, dropping by just 1%, but increased by 10% in value. The Philippines saw a 21% increase in volume and a 16% rise in value for Swedish softwood imports.<\/p>\n<h3>Table 1:\u00a0<strong>Softwood Lumber Exported from Sweden
