Prices for birch veneer logs and birch logs increased moderately, and aspen logs saw a small rise. However, poplar logs and all paperwood categories experienced price drops. Firewood prices saw only a modest increase.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Price dynamics of softwood logs in Estonia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The price trends in Estonia for softwood logs during Q4 2024 can be divided into two categories: standard logs and fine logs. Standard logs saw no major changes, while fine logs dropped by approximately 1.5%. Compared to December 2023, prices for softwood logs rose considerably, with pine logs increasing by 6.6%, pine fine logs by 18%, spruce logs by 15.8%, and spruce fine logs by 17.3%.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of Q4 2024, the average prices of softwood logs based on private forest statistics were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pine logs: \u20ac89.95\/m\u00b3<\/li>\n<li>Pine fine logs: \u20ac84.68\/m\u00b3<\/li>\n<li>Spruce logs: \u20ac89.83\/m\u00b3<\/li>\n<li>Spruce fine logs: \u20ac86.20\/m\u00b3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>State forest prices saw a drop in pine log prices, while spruce log prices increased. Comparing to Q3 2024, pine logs fell by 13.1%, pine fine logs decreased by 1.8%, and spruce logs rose by 6.3%. Spruce fine logs saw a 9.8% increase. Year-on-year, all categories have seen a drop in price, with pine logs seeing a larger decrease than spruce logs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Table 1.
