<\/span>The insolvent Ziegler Group has signed its first sales agreement with an investor. The insulation subsidiary, Naturheld, is being acquired by a wood fiber manufacturer from Rosenberg, who aims to enter the insulation market. According to insolvency administrator Volker B\u00f6hm, the acquisition could be completed by March.<\/p>\n

Naturheld will continue to operate independently under the new ownership, according to Nils Gersonde, a member of the JRS Group management. The transfer is expected to be finalized by mid-March, pending approval from the Federal Cartel Office. The purchase price has not been disclosed. Production at Naturheld will continue at full capacity, and all 130 employees are expected to be retained.<\/p>\n

Additionally, B\u00f6hm revealed that a \"potent buyer\" from the wood and logistics industry has expressed serious interest in acquiring other parts of the company. Ziegler Group had previously announced its intention to sign initial purchase contracts by the end of January.<\/p>\n

Ziegler Group\u2019s financial struggles continue<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ongoing construction crisis has heavily impacted the Ziegler Group. After the insolvency of Ziegler Holding, several of its subsidiaries filed for insolvency in early December, including Ziegler Holzindustrie GmbH and Co. KG in Pl\u00f6\u00dfberg, Naturheld GmbH, and logistics subsidiaries Ziegler Logistik GmbH and Ziegler Global Logistics GmbH. Other affected entities include Ziegler Kunststoffverpackungstochter ZG Distributionsgesellschaft mbH, as well as the pellet plant Ziegler Naturenergie GmbH and the Holzzentrum Ziegler in Pressath.<\/p>\n

Ziegler Group's restructuring process is being overseen by Volker B\u00f6hm, appointed as interim insolvency administrator by the Weiden District Court. He cited the company\u2019s complex internal relationships, particularly between the sawmill\u2019s core companies, as the main reason for the multiple insolvency filings. Internal cash pooling among subsidiaries has exacerbated the financial collapse, leading to insolvencies cascading through the group.<\/p>\n

Investors sought for Ziegler Group\u2019s subsidiaries<\/strong><\/p>\n

A \"structured\" investor search is currently underway, with potential buyers being actively targeted. B\u00f6hm mentioned that several interested parties had already expressed interest in acquiring various Ziegler Group companies. The goal is to secure investor solutions for as many subsidiaries as possible, preserving both operations and jobs. PwC has been appointed as the M&A advisor to guide the process.<\/p>\n

The Ziegler Group, with annual revenues of 750 million euros and over 3,000 employees in Germany, Sweden, and Romania, has been one of the largest suppliers to the construction industry. Over the past years, Ziegler aggressively pursued growth through acquisitions. However, the downturn in the construction industry, exacerbated by the Ukraine war, severely impacted the group, which now faces debts of around 800 million euros.<\/p>\n
