Sawmills are fully prepared to absorb the current supply, and logs are being swiftly transported.<\/p>\n<p>Weather-related logging restrictions may eventually limit operations, but for now, prices are rising across most regions except Burgenland. Spruce A\/C 2b+ logs are priced between \u20ac95 and \u20ac115 per cubic meter, excluding VAT. Following this trend, pine log prices have also increased in some areas. Demand for larch logs remains high, with shortages persisting and prices rising in certain regions.<\/p>\n<p>In the hardwood sector, oak and ash remain the most sought-after species, accounting for the majority of offerings at the premium timber auction in Upper Austria. Oak represented 64% of the supply, followed by ash at 22%, with the remaining 14% spread across 17 other species. Beech markets, however, are under significant pressure. Demand for high-quality beech is weak, and prices in the railway sleeper market have declined by approximately 20% over the past two years, despite stable volumes.<\/p>\n<p>The industrial roundwood market remains stable. Pulp, paper, and panel manufacturers are actively sourcing, with available volumes being promptly transported and processed. While prices are largely stable, some regional downward pressure has been observed, particularly for beech fiberwood.<\/p>\n<p>In the energy wood sector, buyers have ample inventories, further dampened by the mild winter. Additional volumes are proving difficult to sell, and demand for high-quality firewood has dropped sharply, with supply exceeding demand.
