<\/span>S\u00f6dra has announced plans to divest its forest holdings in the Baltic countries. The company currently owns approximately 153,000 hectares (378,000 acres) of land in Estonia and Latvia, with the majority located in Latvia.<\/p>\n

In line with its mission to refine its members\u2019 forests and raw materials to create value for forest estates, S\u00f6dra has decided to initiate the process of selling its forest holdings and associated operations in these countries. According to the announcement, the company is exploring potential stakeholders and aims to complete the sale in 2025.<\/p>\n

Peter Karlsson, Business Area Manager at S\u00f6dra Skog, explained the rationale behind the decision in a statement accompanying the announcement:<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is about the members\u2019 forests, not that we should own forests ourselves. Therefore, we have initiated a sale and now a process is underway to find the right buyer. But we are in no hurry.\u201d<\/p>\n

S\u00f6dra\u2019s focus on creating value for its members\u2019 forest estates underscores the strategic nature of this decision.
