The European Parquet Federation (FEP) has welcomed the European Commission\u2019s proposed provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of parquet from China.<\/span><\/p>\n

The European Commission\u2019s findings on the dumping and injury margins found on imports of multilayered wood flooring (parquet) from China were released on 18 December 2024 in the form of a pre-disclosure.<\/p>\n

The Commission determined that imports from China were dumped at significant margins in the EU and the proposed provisional anti-dumping duties on this product will therefore range from 42.3% to 49.2%.<\/p>\n

Imports of parquet products from China have been made subject to the customs registration from October 2024 with the view of possible application of the anti-<\/p>\n

dumping measures with retroactive effects.<\/p>\n

In light of the release of the pre-disclosure, imposition of the provisional anti-dumping<\/p>\n

measures are now expected to take place in mid-January 2025 and these measures are expected to provide much-needed relief to the EU parquet industry, which FEP says has suffered the \u201cinjurious effects of Chinese imports for a number of years already\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Commission\u2019s ongoing anti-dumping investigation is a result of a formal complaint filed by FEP on behalf of major EU producers from most EU Member States where parquet is produced.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe levels of the provisional duties announced by the Commission will provide<\/p>\n

the necessary relief to an industry which has been suffering the severe effects of unfair imports arriving from China,\u201d said FEP managing director Isabelle Brose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe levels of the provisional duties are very sensible and appropriate as<\/p>\n

they reflect significant price differences resulting from massive overcapacities and market distortions present in the Chinese industry\u201d.<\/p>\n

FEP and the EU parquet producers will continue actively co-operating with the Commission\u2019s investigation team on the remaining stages of this investigation process until its formal completion in July next year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
