<\/span>The EGGER Group has announced that it closed H1 of the 2024\/2025 financial year with consolidated sales of \u20ac2.1bn, despite a difficult market environment marked by downturns in the construction industry, generally weak consumption, major global conflicts, and turbulence in economic policy.<\/p>\n

Thomas Leissing, chief financial officer of EGGER Group and speaker of the group\u2019s management, said that the group\u2019s long-term focus is on the \u201csustainable development\u201d of the company over generations, which will enable them to \u201ccapitalize on prospects and continue to invest in our plants even in difficult economic times.\u201d<\/p>\n

In H1 of 2024\/2025, the EGGER Group generated sales of \u20ac2,093.5m (\u20130.2% as compared to the first half-year 2023\/2024) and an EBITDA of \u20ac320.3m (+7% as compared to the previous year). The EBITDA margin is 15.3%, while the shareholder\u2019s equity ratio is at 42.5%.<\/p>\n

The decorative products segment for furniture and interior design generated \u20ac1,860m (+2.4% year-on-year), benefitting from the inclusion of the Markt Bibart plant (acquired end-2023), higher sales at the Lexington (US) and Biskupiec (PL) plants, and overall strong utilisation in Western and Eastern Europe. However, Central Europe, especially the German-speaking region, faced significant market and price pressure. In contrast, the wood construction and flooring segment saw a decline, with unconsolidated sales of \u20ac351m (\u20139.4% year-on-year), reflecting the downturn in the construction industry, particularly in new residential construction.<\/p>\n

EGGER is continuing to pursue its long-term investment strategy, with investments totalling \u20ac218.4m in the first half of the year, compared to \u20ac238.6m in the same period last year. The investments related to capacity expansion projects, such as the expansion of the Barony plant (UK), which now also has equipment for the production of decorative faced chipboard, and the modernisation of the resin plant in Wismar (DE). In addition, investments were made or started at the two plants in Caorso (IT) and Markt Bibart (DE), the two most recent additions to the EGGER Group, to expand capacity and strengthen synergies within the Group.<\/p>\n

According to EGGER Group, the macroeconomic outlook remains highly uncertain and will continue to be strongly influenced by the issues posed by global crises, weak markets, continued subdued demand in the construction sector, and the resulting price pressure. As a result, the group\u2019s revenue and earnings expectations for H2 of the 2024\/2025 financial year remain uncertain.<\/p>\n

Still, the group said that it believes it is well equipped to handle future difficulties with its strong financial base, as well as long-term, successful relationships with customers and suppliers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
