Arauco, one of the largest wooden panel manufacturers in the world, has reported solid results for both the third quarter and the first nine months of 2024, with growth in sales and improved profitability.<\/p>\n

For the July to September period of 2024 (3Q-2024), sales totaled USD 1,695.2 million, a 6.3% increase from USD 1,594.9 million in the same quarter of 2023. Although the wood products segment saw a slight decline in sales (USD 804.4 million compared to USD 815.4 million in 2023, -1.3%), overall growth was supported by strong performance in other areas.<\/p>\n

EBITDA rose by 208.5%, reaching USD 748.3 million, up from USD 242.6 million in 2023. This growth was reflected in a significant improvement in the EBITDA margin, which increased from 15.2% to 44.1%, a 28.9 percentage point rise. Arauco also reported a profit of USD 230.6 million, a notable recovery from the loss of USD 173 million recorded in 3Q-2023.<\/p>\n

For the year-to-date period from January to September 2024, Arauco posted strong results as well. Sales reached USD 4,884.5 million, up 9.9% from USD 4,443.3 million in 2023. In the wood products segment, sales were USD 2,325.6 million, a 4.2% decline from USD 2,428.5 million in 9M-2023. However, overall EBITDA increased by 144.6%, reaching USD 1,607.6 million, up from USD 657.2 million in 9M-2023.<\/p>\n

The EBITDA margin also grew from 14.8% to 32.9%, a rise of 18.1 percentage points. Arauco reported a profit of USD 371.5 million, a strong recovery from the loss of USD 274.4 million in 9M-2023.<\/p>\n
