The demand revival observed in the previous month has continued, with slight price increases now evident in Lower Austria, Styria, and Tyrol. Harvesting activities are still largely limited to processing damaged wood. Stockpiled assortments are quickly transported, although regional delays occur due to softened forest roads. Prices for the benchmark spruce grade A\/C 2b+ range between \u20ac93 and \u20ac110 across Austria.<\/p>\n<p>The increased demand for pine persists, with regional price increases also noted. Despite the availability of Siberian larch, buyers are increasingly requesting domestic timber, resulting in strong and largely unmet demand.<\/p>\n<p>As the hardwood season begins, oak and ash are experiencing particularly high demand. Price levels for high-quality hardwood match those of the previous year, with slight regional increases. In contrast, lower-quality assortments are facing growing pressure. The traditional valuable timber auctions by the forest associations of Lower and Upper Austria will take place at the end of January. Forest advisors or helpers should be consulted before harvesting or preparing potentially valuable logs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Industrial wood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The paper, pulp, and panel industries are generally well-stocked with softwood industrial logs. Despite the increase in calamity-related supply, supply and demand remain balanced nationwide. Transportation and acceptance continue steadily, with prices stable compared to the previous month.
