(i.e., the requirement for deforestation and parcel-level data collection is not necessary\u2014forest degradation is not exempt).<\/p>\n<p>Using the first of the three proposed criteria, countries that could be considered \"no-risk\" include: all European countries (except Sweden and Norway), the USA, China, India, and Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>Traders along the value chain should be excluded from the requirements of the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), as the initial operator has already provided the necessary documentation. This will avoid unnecessary administrative burdens and additional costs that could negatively impact the prices and availability of products covered by the regulation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the next steps and likely outcomes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A trilogue between the European Parliament, the Council, and the Commission is necessary to reach an agreement on the amendments added, particularly regarding the \"no-risk\" countries category.
