<\/span>The strong wood market situation continues, Stora Enso says in its monthly market overview. The price level has been high in the fall, as have the purchase volumes.<\/p>\n

The dry harvest days of autumn and the strong reserve of the purchased wood trade have enabled efficient harvesting. In October, Stora Enso harvested and delivered a record amount of wood to its factory customers.<\/p>\n

\"In October, the wood trade had record weeks for this autumn in terms of quantity. The price of wood is statistically still at a high level, which has in part activated forest owners to trade,\" says purchasing director Sami Honkanen in the press release.<\/p>\n

The company says that it also actively sells wood in November-December.<\/p>\n

The purchase of Junnikkala supports the cardboard factory's wood maintenance Stora Enso's new cardboard factory in Oulu will start up next year. The factory's wood consumption will increase by one million cubic meters.<\/p>\n

The company has strengthened its wood procurement by buying sawmill company Junnikkala approx. Completion of the deal still requires the approval of the competition authorities.<\/p>\n

In addition to pine, spruce and birch fiber wood, a considerable amount of wood-based fuels are also used in Oulu's cardboard production. So there is a demand for energy wood in addition to material wood, Stora Enso says.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
