{"id":88259,"date":"2024-11-08T06:19:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-08T06:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/antidumping-measures-give-german-parquet-industry-hope-for-business-revival\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T09:03:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T09:03:07","slug":"antidumping-measures-give-german-parquet-industry-hope-for-business-revival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/antidumping-measures-give-german-parquet-industry-hope-for-business-revival\/","title":{"rendered":"Antidumping measures give German parquet Industry hope for business revival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of the German Parquet Industry supports the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024\/2733 recently adopted by the European Commission, which makes imports of multi-layer wooden flooring from China subject to registration.<span id=\"more-36689\"><\/span> This measure is a first important step in the ongoing anti-dumping proceedings against Chinese manufacturers who are disadvantaging the European parquet industry through severely undervalued exports.<\/p>\n<p>\"The European Commission's decision sends a clear signal against unfair trade practices and strengthens the competitiveness of our domestic parquet manufacturers,\" says vdp chairman Michael Schmid. \"We expect that this measure will have an immediate impact on the pricing of Chinese dumping suppliers. This is because the registration requirement gives the EU the opportunity to impose retroactive tariffs on imports if dumping by Chinese exporters is confirmed in the course of the EU investigation. The Commission is expected to announce the level of the provisional anti-dumping duties from mid-November, which will come into force from mid-December and apply for six months.\"<\/p>\n<p>The initiation of this procedure was preceded by a complaint from the Federation of European Parquet Industries (FEP), which pointed to dumping margins of between 60% and 160%. The European parquet industry had suffered massive price and sales pressure as a result of these unfair competition practices, which jeopardised sustainable development and investment. The current measures cover products made of multi-layer wood, but not bamboo or mosaic panels.<\/p>\n<p>The Association of the German Parquet Industry sees this measure as an opportunity to secure sustainable wood processing in Europe and to promote demand for high-quality, locally produced products. \"We are convinced that the EU's decision will not only help to stabilize the European parquet industry in the long term, but also to preserve local jobs and promote environmentally friendly production methods,\" says Michael Schmid.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of the German Parquet Industry supports the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024\/2733 recently adopted by the European Commission, which makes imports of multi-layer wooden flooring from China subject to registration.
