In recent years, the Swedish wood industry company Setra Group has invested close to two billion (EUR 172 million) in its sawmills. Recently, the company inaugurated a new saw line at the sawmill in Skinnskatteberg. Here, scrap timber from the forests in the immediate area will be turned into wood products.<\/p>\n
''Skinnskatteberg's geographical position in the middle of an important raw material district plays a key role. With the new saw line, we will be able to use even more forest raw material from the local area and convert it at a higher speed into products that contribute with great climate benefits,'' says Mikael Romlin, site manager for Setra Group in Skinnskatteberg, in a press release.<\/p>\n
According to Setra, the raw material will be used and processed more efficiently than before. The new saw line has the capacity to handle one log per second, three times faster than before.<\/p>\n
Setra\u2019s Skinnskatteberg sawmill, located in V\u00e4stmanland County, Sweden, has been established in 1911. Specializing in high-quality sawn wood products, the mill supplies timber to key markets across Sweden, Denmark, the Baltic states, the United Kingdom, and North Africa.
