<\/span>Media reports about how Stora Enso deliberately delayed the payment of invoices have caused the Swedish entrepreneurs' organization to demand the company's management to resign and the board to be ashamed.<\/p>\n

Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri revealed last Monday that Stora Enso had not paid invoices to its subcontractors in the last week of the second and third quarters. The purpose was to boost September's cash flow.<\/p>\n

The personnel were instructed to tell the interviewers that the reason was internal problems.<\/p>\n

Stora Enso initially refused to comment on the matter. The company later confirmed that the payments had been delayed and apologized for what had happened.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Stora Enso CEO Hans Sohlstr\u00f6m gave an interview to Dagens industri, in which he apologized and promised improvement. However, he denied that the staff had been instructed to lie.<\/p>\n
