Forestry giant Stora Enso has come under criticism in Sweden for payment delays.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Swedish financial newspaper Dagens Industri wrote on Monday that the company has beautified its cash flow in the last quarter of the year by moving the bill of payments a week from September to October.<\/p>\n

According to the information obtained by the newspaper, the postponement had to be explained by internal problems, if a supplier of goods or services asked for their money.<\/p>\n

Stora Enso confirms\u00a0in its press release\u00a0that it was decided to postpone payments in order to optimize cash flow. However, according to the company, the financial effects of the delays are not material in terms of total cash flow and liquidity.<\/p>\n

''The decision was proactively and openly communicated to relevant internal stakeholders, such as financial administration and procurement employees, ''Stora Enso announced in its press release.<\/p>\n

According to Stora Enso, the recipients of the payments have been informed on a case-by-case basis. According to the company, the invoices in question have been paid.<\/p>\n

According to Dagens Industri, Stora Enso also operated in the same way between June and July, when the second quarter was turning into the third. Stora Enso confirms that it has acted in this way.<\/p>\n
