<\/span>The operations at Norra Timber's sawmill in Hissmofors, northern Sweden will be developed through multi-million investments to be carried out in three phases. A total of up to 150 million SEK (approximately 13 million EUR) will be invested in the facility.<\/p>\n

\"Despite the challenging times for the industry, we continue to invest in cutting-edge technology \u2013 it's necessary to stay competitive,\" says Henrik J\u00f6nsson, Head of Industry at Norra Timber. \"We have modern and competitive facilities and will maintain strong purchasing power for raw materials,\" J\u00f6nsson adds.<\/p>\n

The planned investments will be carried out in three stages. The first stage involves a new post-processing system after the sawline. The new machinery will have higher capacity than the previous one, enabling production increases, according to a press release from Norra Skog.<\/p>\n

This investment amounts to approximately 40 million SEK (around 3.5 million EUR) and will increase annual production by 10,000 cubic meters of sawn timber. The next two phases will include upgrades to the sawline and will involve investments of around 100 million SEK (about 8.7 million EUR).<\/p>\n

Currently, around 70 people work at Hissmofors Sawmill, which has an annual production of about 170,000 cubic meters of sawn and planed pine and spruce.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
