In standing sales in July, the average price of spruce logs in Finland fell to just under EUR 83, while the price of pine logs remained close to EUR 80 per cubic meter. <\/span>The average price level for the whole of last year was exceeded by more than 10% in real terms. The price of birch logs remained at EUR 67.<\/p>\n

Standing sales prices for pulpwood also came to a halt. However, the average price of spruce remained above EUR 34, while birch and pine were around EUR 33. These prices ended up 24-28% above last year's level.<\/p>\n

In delivery sales of pulpwood, prices continued to rise at exceptionally high levels. The price of spruce rose to almost EUR 53, while birch and pine went for almost EUR 52 per cubic meter. Average prices rose by two to three percent from June, ending up 10-14% above last year's level.<\/p>\n

Trade volumes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Timber trade in Finland slowed down as usual in July, but the volumes of timber trade were still well above the normal July volumes. Last year's figures doubled, and the average for the previous five years were exceeded by half.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cumulative volume of timber trade in January-July was six per cent higher than last year. The average purchase volumes of the previous five years were exceeded by 19%, the trade in logs by 22% and in pulpwood by 11%.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
