In 2023, sales reached EUR 4.45 billion. <span id=\"more-35982\"><\/span>The group grew by the 22nd plant in Markt Bibart (DE) and took a minority stake in the Thai wood-based materials manufacturer Panel Plus.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are not entirely satisfied with the results. At the same time, we are proud that we have been able to hold our own in this very difficult environment. Our sights are clearly set on the future and we are pleased that we have been able to initiate far-reaching strategic developments. Thanks to our very solid financial basis and our long-term strategy, we are able to take growth steps and grow against the market even in weak market situations,\" said Thomas Leissing, Group Head of Finance\/Administration and Spokesman for the Group Management, at the annual press conference at the headquarters in St. Johann in Tirol (AT).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Egger\u00a0Group produced 10.4 million m\u00b3 of wood-based materials and sawn timber in the 2023\/2024 financial year (previous year: 9.6 million m3). The effects of the overall economic downturn were felt to slightly different degrees in the individual product areas. \"People in the vast majority of our markets are suffering from high inflation, higher living costs and more difficult building conditions. All of this led to a weak propensity to consume and a significant decline in building permits - and ultimately to weak demand for our products,\" says Michael Egger Jr., Group Manager Sales\/Marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Market and price pressure was considerable in the Building Products division (products for structural timber construction and flooring). Unconsolidated sales in this product area fell by 22.0% to \u20ac704.9 million. In the Decorative Products division (products for furniture and interior design), the plants in Western and Eastern Europe were well utilized. However, the situation in the core markets in Central Europe was challenging, with the German-speaking region in particular experiencing extremely high market and price pressure. Since the beginning of 2024, the launch of the new\u00a0Egger\u00a0Decorative 24+ collection has provided positive impetus and good incoming orders. The Decorative Products division generated unconsolidated sales of EUR 3.6 billion in the 2023\/2024 financial year (-3.8% compared to the previous year).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Egger\u00a0Group was able to take significant steps in the implementation of its own growth strategy in the past financial year. In November 2023, the wood materials manufacturer took over the chipboard plant in Markt Bibart (DE), and since then the group has officially had 22 production sites. Extensive investments in this newest site, which will enable the use of recycled wood and the processing into coated chipboard, are already being implemented.<\/p>\n<p>With the aim of further strengthening its own market position in Asia, the Egger Group acquired a 25.1% stake in the Thai wood-based materials manufacturer Panel Plus Co., Ltd. at the beginning of 2024. The network of international recycling collection sites that\u00a0Egger\u00a0operates under the name Timberpak also expanded with additional branches.
