Major EU destinations such as Germany and France saw substantial reductions of 39% and 41%, respectively. Similarly, shipments to the Netherlands and Estonia decreased by 38% and 25%, respectively. Despite these declines, the EU remained the largest market for Finnish softwood lumber.

The United Kingdom saw a more modest decrease in imports of Finnish lumber, down by 15% to 303,000 cubic meters. In contrast, exports to Norway decreased by 21%, reaching 7,600 cubic meters, indicating a decline in the Scandinavian market.

Exports of Finnish softwood lumber to North Africa registered a decrease of 13% in total exports, amounting to 611,000 cubic meters. However, exports to Algeria and Tunisia fell sharply by 57% and 45%, respectively.

North American markets demonstrated a decline, with exports decreasing by 10% to 36,000 cubic meters. Exports to Canada, although small in absolute terms, saw a substantial percentage increase.

In the Near and Middle East, exports decreased by 25%, totaling 299,000 cubic meters. Saudi Arabia, the largest market in the region, experienced a decline of 21%, while exports to Israel and Jordan dropped significantly by 28% and 32%, respectively.

Asian markets exhibited mixed results. While overall exports to the region increased by 5%, Japan showed a remarkable increase of 33%, reaching 307,000 cubic meters.
