Sales for the division reached EUR 120 million, down 13.7% from EUR 139 million in Q2 2023. <span id=\"more-35923\"><\/span>This decline was primarily due to lower sales prices and changes in the product mix, though delivery volumes increased by 13.4% to 110,000 m\u00b3.<\/p>\n<p>The Comparable EBITDA for Q2 2024 was EUR 21 million, accounting for 17.6% of sales, compared to EUR 26 million (18.7%) in the same period last year. Operating profit stood at EUR 16 million, or 13.1% of sales, a decrease from EUR 21 million (15.1%) in Q2 2023. Comparable EBIT mirrored this trend, also at EUR 16 million, down from EUR 26 million the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the challenges, UPM Plywood managed to improve its Comparable EBIT from Q1 2024 due to higher delivery volumes, although fixed costs rose as well. Sales in Q2 2024 showed a significant increase from EUR 98 million in Q1 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The market environment saw an uptick in demand for spruce plywood in panel trading and veneer, and birch plywood in panel trading. However, LNG end-use deliveries were affected by project schedules. The EU\u2019s anti-dumping measures on Russian-origin birch plywood imports from T\u00fcrkiye and Kazakhstan had a positive impact on the European market, supporting UPM Plywood\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p>UPM Plywood operated at full capacity during the seasonally strong market conditions of Q2.
