  2. High Energy Costs<\/strong>: Romania's electricity costs are among the highest in Europe.<\/li>\n
  3. Artificially Stabilized Exchange Rate<\/strong>: An overvalued leu favored imports and hurt exports.<\/li>\n
  4. Operational Costs<\/strong>: High costs associated with shipping and port operations in Constan\u021ba due to congestion and the export of Ukrainian grains.<\/li>\n
  5. Rising Labor Costs<\/strong>: Double-digit inflation in Romania has increased labor costs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Market Dynamics and Speculation<\/h4>\n

    The primary driver of the negative impact on the wood industry has been the high price of wood resources. Auctions organized by RNP-Romsilva have kept prices in a speculative range due to artificial reductions in supply and fragmented offerings through electronic auctions without guarantees.<\/p>\n

    Additionally, the acquisition of the HS Timber factory in Sebe\u0219 by Ziegler Timber and its subsequent restart has increased demand and competition, driving prices higher in late 2023. This increased demand was necessary to compensate for initial low stock levels through imports.<\/p>\n
