The export prices were a bit higher (see table below), but there is no noticeable upward trend, reflecting the stagnation of the US lumber market.<span id=\"more-35740\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Overall, the volume of softwood lumber exports from the European Union to the US decreased by 8%. German exports fell by 10%, while Swedish exports increased by 9%. Latvia saw a significant increase of 61%, whereas Austria experienced a modest rise of 3%. However, exports from other countries in the European Union dropped substantially by 49%.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of value, the total export value from the European Union to the US saw a smaller decline of 2%. German export values dropped by 12%, while Sweden and Austria saw increases of 6%.
