Positive trends can also be observed in the softwood sawlog market in Latvia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The price of softwood sawlogs is rising and on average has reached 85 EUR\/m3 in February-April 2024, but in some places even 96 EUR\/m3. As well the demand for softwood logs has increased, which is related to the decrease in lending interest rates. Thus this could signal the restart of construction and the potential risk of a lack of wood on the market, which is related with the decision of the Constitutional Court to cancel the previously adopted amendments on the cutting of younger trees in the forest.<\/p>\n

The price of softwood pulpwood in February-April 2024 has reached 74 to 75 euros per cubic meter, which has largely affected the prices of softwood containers, which in turn have reached the mark of 77 to 78 euros per cubic meter, creating a usual correlation.<\/p>\n

As usual, the price of birch veneer blocks decreased by 10-15 euros per cubic meter, which is usual for this season, while the price of birch paperwood remains stable at 61-62 euros per cubic meter.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
