In a new survey, conducted by Novus, 84 percent responded that they believe the EU should have less influence over Swedish forestry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The survey was carried out on behalf of the Forest Association and it was the association's members who answered the questions. 84 percent believe that the EU should have less influence on how the forest is managed in Sweden. Ten percent want neither more nor less influence and four percent want to see more influence from the EU.<\/p>\n

- In the past year, we have noticed an increased demand for knowledge in EU politics from our members. In the past term, it has become clear how much legislation from the EU affects the conditions for owning and using forests here in Sweden, says Johan Larsson, secretary general of the Forest Association, in a press release.<\/p>\n

Almost nine out of ten answer that they weigh the forest policy when deciding which party will get their vote in Sunday's EU elections.<\/p>\n
