<\/span>The turnover of the Latvijas Finieris concern in 2023 reached 404.8 million euros 15% more than the year before, while EBITDA increased by 40%, reaching 78 million euros. Evaluating by volume, the majority (80.5%) of manufactured birch plywood products went to industrial customers in the countries of the European Economic Area, with the main emphasis being placed on industries where birch plywood as a material is very important due to its excellent physical and mechanical properties.<\/p>\n

\"The war waged by Russia in Ukraine continues, negatively affecting economic growth in the world, especially in Europe. Fighting for fair competition, we have been involved in the investigation led by the European Commission on the evasion of anti-dumping duties, strongly opposing the introduction of sanctioned plywood products into the European market,\" says J\u0101nis Ciems, chairman of the board of \"Latvijas Finieris.<\/p>\n

Last year, Latvijas Finieris investments reached 58.3 million euros. Among the most important investment projects, the third round of development of the birch plywood factory of Verems in R\u0113zekne and the start of construction works of a new synthetic resin factory in Riga, which is being built within the international consortium Viobond, should be highlighted. Its purpose is to increase the use of renewable resources in the composition of the resin used in gluing plywood.<\/p>\n
