The three largest global players in the production of wood-based panels were on the podium. The Austrian Kronospan took first place. <\/span>In Poland, the company runs 8 production plants and employs approx. 3,000. people.<\/p>\n

The Swiss from Swiss Krono landed right behind her. The company has 10 factories located around the world, including: in Germany, France, the United States, including one in Poland. It has been operating here since 1994, when it took over the former State Chipboard Plant in \u017bary. Today it employs over a thousand people, being one of the largest employers in the entire Lubusz Voivodeship.<\/p>\n

Third place went\u00a0to Pfleiderer, which produces wood-based materials for the furniture, construction and interior finishing industries. A few months ago, the Polish branch of the company belonged to the Germans, but in December last year it was announced that the Polish assets would be taken over by the Kaczmarek couple and the Innova Capital fund. Bogdan and El\u017cbieta Kaczmark are furniture giants who over the years have specialized in the production of sofas, mattresses and upholstered furniture, the largest customer of which is the Swedish Ikea. By taking over the Polish branch of Pfleiderer, their furniture empire will be joined by three production plants: two in Grajewo and one in Wierusz\u00f3w, which together employ over a thousand employees.<\/p>\n

What other companies are among the 20 largest producers of wood products? In addition to manufacturers of all kinds of wood-based panels, the ranking also included a large manufacturer of prefabricated wooden houses, i.e. Danwood. The company is based in Podlasie, but, interestingly, its roots go back to the Korean TV giant, LG. During 25 years of its activity, the company has already sold 17,000. houses. Most of them went to the German market.<\/p>\n

Also high in the ranking was the well-known flooring manufacturer Barlinek, controlled by Micha\u0142 So\u0142owow.\u00a0After years of absence, Stelmet was also included in the ranking of the largest producers of wooden products. The company from Zielona G\u00f3ra is one of the largest manufacturer of garden architecturf Europe. It uses spruce and pine wood to produce fences, trellises, boards, platforms, pergolas, flower beds, gazebos and houses. Production is exported to over 25 countries, primarily to the EU market.<\/p>\n
