As far as pellet prices are concerned, the year started with a fall in Germany. This downward trend may now have come to an end. <\/span><\/p>\n

Even in May, wood pellets maintain their price advantage over gas and oil. The German Pellet Institute (Depi) reports an average pellet price of 280.69 euros\/t in Germany in May 2024. At HeizPellets24 it is only around 265 euros \u2013 at the beginning of the year it was almost 300 euros. According to holzpellets.net, the average price in Austria is currently 282 euros, to which the higher VAT also contributes.<\/p>\n

According to Depi, the price in southern Germany is 276.97 euros\/t, followed by central Germany with an average price of 279.87 euros\/t. In northern and eastern Germany the price per ton is 291.81 euros.<\/p>\n

What's next for pellet prices?<\/strong><\/p>\n

holzpellets.net currently expects that prices may now have bottomed out. A slight price increase is likely, which is not unusual in late spring and summer. The reasons for this are supply and demand, as many wood pellet users want to fill up their pellet storage before the holiday season, as well as longer delivery times. Compared to April, the price has currently fallen by another 2.8%.
