Setra is following this trend and doubling its production capacity for cross-laminated timber (CLT) at the factory in L\u00e5ngshyttan.<\/p>\n<p>At Setra's factory in L\u00e5ngshyttan, Dalarna, CLT, glulam, and building components are manufactured. The timber comes from the group's own sawmills. Setra is owned by the Swedish forest associations Sveaskog (50 percent) and Mellanskog (49.5 percent).<\/p>\n<p>Setra has recently inaugurated a new CNC machining center for cross-laminated timber at its factory in L\u00e5ngshyttan, Dalarna. This means a doubling of production capacity. Previously, the factory had one of the world's largest presses for CLT panels.<\/p>\n<p>\"In line with society's green transition, timber construction is growing. Setra wants to drive development forward in the industry by investing in standardized solutions that simplify our customers' everyday lives,\" says Hans Messing, factory manager for Setra's glulam and CLT production in L\u00e5ngshyttan, in a press release.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More industrial timber construction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to Setra, there are significant regional differences in timber construction. The company states that many homes are being built in the expansive parts of northern Sweden and in the Gothenburg area. 30 percent of CLT products are sold to Norway.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are planning for market growth there. In Norway, there is an increased demand for both CLT and glulam,\" says Jesper \u00c5kerlund,\u00a0business manager for Setra's building solutions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Setra, market development is increasingly moving towards industrial timber construction with more standardized building systems.<\/p>\n<p>\"Many of our repeat customers have learned to build with timber frames and to use CLT where it is most favorable in the construction profile. When, for example, housing developers can repeat their building systems, the entire project is streamlined, from lead times and logistics to resource utilization,\" says Jesper \u00c5kerlund.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wood construction continues to increase in Sweden.
