Economic growth is stagnating and construction industry remains in recession due to high financing costs.<span id=\"more-34986\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Softwood sawlogs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, the demand for spruce softwood sawlogs is declining again compared to the previous month. Regional forest inventories have formed, partly due to thawing restrictions and partly due to increased supply quantities. These should be reduced promptly with the continuous cutting by the sawmill industry. Prices have stabilized and for the leading assortment of spruce A\/C 2b+, they range nationwide between 95 and 113 euros per cubic meter over bark (FMO). Demand for larch remains consistently strong and exceeds supply. The marketing of pine remains very variable regionally; however, contractually agreed uses should be concluded promptly to avoid temperature-related quality losses due to blue stain. Oak and ash remain in strong demand in the hardwood sawlog market. Here, too, provision should be made promptly to maintain quality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Industrial wood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sites of the paper, pulp, and panel industries are generally receptive due to the reduced availability of industrial roundwood. Supply and demand are mostly balanced. Even surplus quantities could be accepted regionally. The transport of provided quantities occurs promptly unless road closures are ordered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Energy wood<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mild weather is noticeable in the energy wood market. The plants are well stocked, and demand is declining. Regionally, marketing of non-contracted quantities is challenging. Prices have been adjusted downward in some cases. There have also been regional price reductions for firewood.<\/p>\n<p>Due to spring-like temperatures in February and March, the bark beetle is already active in some regions.
