<\/span>Production at Mets\u00e4 Group's Kemi bioproduct factory and cardboard factory will stop. The reason for the stoppage is the ongoing political strikes. Mets\u00e4 Group has previously reported on the shutdown of the Joutseno factories.<\/p>\n

During the first week of the strike, the bioproduct factory has had to limit production to a minimum speed, but after the rail transport of wood raw material was interrupted, the factory's production will be completely reduced.<\/p>\n

\"We don't have enough wood to run the factory,\" says Pekka Kittil\u00e4 , director of Kemi's bioproduct factory .<\/p>\n

Again, there is not enough wood, because VR's rail transports have been interrupted due to the strike. Wood has been brought to Kemi mainly by train, and road transport cannot quickly compensate for the resulting deficit.<\/p>\n

The shutdown of the bioproduct factory has started on March 17. The cardboard factory stops after the shutdown of the bioproduct factory.<\/p>\n
