Despite the subdued construction industry, demand for spruce sawlogs is currently increasing in Austria. <\/span>Damaged wood from storms, broken snow and ice can therefore be marketed without any problems. Removal is usually quick, except in areas where thaw closures or weight restrictions have already been put in place due to the weather.<\/p>\n

Prices have increased slightly regionally and are between 85 - 113 euros per cubic meter across Austria for the flagship range of spruce A\/C 2b+. When prices are stable, demand for larch usually exceeds supply. The marketing of pine varies regionally; while demand has increased somewhat in the north, sales in the south remain difficult.<\/p>\n

Oak and ash continue to be in high demand on the hardwood log market. The trend towards oak has also manifested itself in valuable timber auctions. On the one hand because of the quantity delivered and on the other hand because of the attractive prices. The most expensive trunk was an oak tree and earned 7,263.50 euros.<\/p>\n

Industrial wood<\/strong><\/p>\n

The locations of the paper, pulp and board industries are consistently capable of receiving industrial roundwood. Demand and supply are usually balanced; regional demand exceeds supply.<\/p>\n

The removal and pick-up will take place promptly. The prices are stable and are between 75 - 115 euros per ton of atro for pulpwood.<\/p>\n

Energy wood<\/strong><\/p>\n

The energy wood market is running normally according to the time of year. If stocks are good, the quantities offered will be purchased without any problem. Prices are stable, with the exception of Upper Austria. There was a slight price increase here. The reason for this could be the lack of REDII certification of individual retailers, which is why more purchases are made directly from the producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
