<\/span>Several potential buyers are negotiating the acquisition of enterprises that were previously part of the Finnish giant Mets\u00e4 Group, Russian media reports with reference to the Committee on Natural Resources of the Leningrad Region. The information was confirmed by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region Oleg Malashchenko, who also said that VLP is one of the contenders for Mets\u00e4\u2019s assets in Russia.<\/p>\n

According to Russian media, VLP Group of Companies is interested in purchasing all Mets\u00e4 legal entities in Russia.\u00a0These are Metsya Forest St. Petersburg LLC and Metsya Board Rus LLC, as well as Metsya Forest Podporozhye LLC (logging) and Metsya Svir LLC (lumber production) in the Podporozhye region.<\/p>\n

There has been no official comment from VLP Group yet.<\/p>\n

Back in 2023, the Austrian Hasslacher Group has sold its Russian production site to the VLP Group.<\/p>\n

The VLP Group has been cutting 840,000 m\u00b3 of log wood a year. Annual softwood lumber production lately totaled 410,000 m\u00b3. The group also produces 30,000 tons of pellets each year. The VLP Group leases 1 million ha of forests where it harvests 1.6 million m\u00b3 of log wood a year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
