She says Canada will fight the duties by every means available, including litigation through existing trade agreements, as well as the World Trade Organization and the U.S. Court of International Trade. At the same time, she said, the federal government stands ready to negotiate a resolution to the dispute that has dogged the Canada-U. S. relationship for decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. Lumber Coalition supports the Commerce Department\u2019s continued commitment to enforce the U.S. trade laws against subsidized and unfairly traded Canadian lumber imports,\u201d stated Andrew Miller, Chairman of the U.S. Lumber Coalition and CEO of Stimson Lumber.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. Lumber Coalition, since the filing of the trade cases by the U.S. industry in 2016, U.S. sawmills have invested and expanded capacity to meet demand to build more American homes.
