The prolonged weak and uncertain market situation has led to Stora Enso preparing a new profitability program, which may lead to a reduction of up to a thousand employees in different countries. The goal of the program is to increase operating income by 80 million euros per year.<\/p>\n
The change negotiations will start as soon as possible as the country-specific plans become more detailed. Negotiations are conducted according to local laws.<\/p>\n
Stora Enson wants to improve its long-term competitiveness by focusing on its core operations. The program does not include new closures of production facilities.<\/p>\n
The majority of the planned savings could be realized in 2025, and a significant part of the possible employee reductions would already take place in the first half of the current year.<\/p>\n
Personnel reductions, efficiency improvements and synergy opportunities would affect all divisions and group functions, and they would be proportional according to the size of the organization.<\/p>\n
