Due to the mostly below-average roundwood inventories of the Austrian sawmill industry, the demand for softwood logs has slightly increased.<\/span><\/p>\n

This trend was somewhat reinforced due to unfavorable weather conditions for timber harvesting. Isolated snow breakage damage from heavy rainfall in early December is not market-relevant. Provided quantities are quickly transported and taken over.<\/p>\n

Prices for Spruce A\/C 2b+ have slightly increased, especially in the lower price range, and range nationwide between \u20ac82 and \u20ac100 per cubic meter.<\/p>\n

In the hardwood log market, there are hardly any changes compared to the previous month. Oak and ash continue to be in high demand. Maple B grades are now selling well again. There are price losses in beech.<\/p>\n

Industrial Wood<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Austrian industrial roundwood market is currently very balanced. The reduced demand from the paper, pulp, and panel industries meets a low supply. The transport and takeover proceed quickly unless there are weather-related restrictions. Although storage capacities for additional quantities are available, industrial roundwood is sometimes redirected to energy utilization due to the below-average price level. Except for Salzburg, where prices for red beech fiberwood have been raised, demand is balanced at stable prices.<\/p>\n

Energy Wood<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite reduced harvesting due to the significantly reduced wood demand from material processors, the energy wood market is well supplied. Even for regionally higher quantities of damaged wood, energy utilization has been an important sales channel in recent months. The extension of the forest fund provides additional funding to adapt the forest to climate change. Therefore, available work capacities should be used to carry out relevant maintenance measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
