<\/span>On December 4th, Junnikkala Ltd started trial operations at its Oulu sawmill as the first logs successfully passed through the new saw blades.<\/p>\n

CEO Kalle Junnikkala commented, \"The event went even better than anticipated. The schedule for the first log processing held up perfectly.\"<\/p>\n

With over a thousand logs processed this week, the company is gradually increasing its operational pace. Fine-tuning is ongoing, and the focus is now on refining production schedules.<\/p>\n

\"As we approach the new year, the plan is to commence full-scale production in January. December serves as a preparatory phase,\" notes Antti Kyr\u00f6l\u00e4inen, the factory manager of the Oulu sawmill.<\/p>\n

The new sawmill will need about 800,000 cubic meters of spruce and pine logs each year.\u00a0The total annual need for wood in Junnikkala rises to 1.5 million cubic meters.\u00a0Subsidy procurement is increasing significantly in Northern Ostrobothnia, Southern Lapland and North Ouluj\u00e4rvi in \u200b\u200bKainuu.<\/p>\n

After the investment, Junnikkala's total production will increase to almost 800,000 cubic meters of finished sawn timber annually.\u00a0Net sales are estimated to rise to approximately EUR 300 million annually.<\/p>\n
