Some GWMI members have received offers of plywood whose origin could be Russia, and which transit through Turkey or certain Asian countries such as China or Kazakhstan. We remind you that, since July 2022, all products of Russian origin are prohibited from direct or indirect import into Europe, as well as products made from Russian wood.<\/span><\/p>\n

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023\/1649 of 21.08.2023 concerns the opening of an anti-circumvention investigation into imports of birch plywood shipped from Turkey and Kazakhstan, likely to circumvent the anti-dumping measures imposed on imports of plywood birch from Russia. The request for investigation was filed by Woodstock Consortium on 03.07.2023, and the Commission concluded that there was sufficient evidence indicating circumvention of existing anti-dumping measures.<\/p>\n

Operators are informed of the opening of this investigation, and the customs authorities of the Member States must take measures to register the imports concerned. Interested parties have the opportunity to make themselves known and present their observations to the Commission within 15 days from the date of entry into force of the Regulation, and to submit replies to the questionnaire, requests for exemption or any other information within 37 days of publication of the regulation. It is also possible to request to be heard by the Commission within the same 37-day period, with a request for hearing having to be presented within 15 days of the date of entry into force of the regulation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
