The organization claims that the State Forests have changed the rules for wood sales for 2024 \"ignoring the comments of all organizations representing the Polish wood industry.\" According to industry representatives, this will translate into an increase in wood prices , which in turn may lead to mass layoffs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The wood industry says prices have increased by 40%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that the wood industry has appealed to the government to intervene in the issue of wood sales rules. Already in the summer, she warned that her situation was unprecedented. \"For the first time in their long history, the largest factories are stopping their technological lines due to the inability to sell their products,\" industry representatives reported.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for the Wood Industry in an interview with money.pl claimed that \"the State Forests have increased prices.\" The rules for selling wood have changed already in 2023. The result was an increase in prices of up to 40%.<\/p>\n<p>Estimates of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry showed that production in individual segments was decreasing . In the case of windows and doors, on average by 35 percent, and for sawn timber - depending on the type - from 29 to 43 percent. furniture by 30 percent, and floors - 35 percent.<\/p>\n<p>''We are up against the wall because - even though sales are decreasing - we have to raise prices. We produce from raw material that had to be contracted in November or December last year'' explained Rafa\u0142 G\u0142osler, director of the office at the Polish Chamber of Commerce of the Wood Industry.<\/p>\n<p>According to industry representatives, wood prices on the market could be much lower if Polish companies did not have to compete with foreign intermediaries. Export is also a problem. The Polish Chamber of Commerce for the Wood Industry estimates that 20 million cubic meters of wood have been exported from Poland in this way since 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The furniture industry is afraid of a decline in sales<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Micha\u0142 Strzelecki, director of the Chamber's office, in an interview with money.pl, estimates that changing the rules for selling wood will have a negative impact on the entire industry.<\/p>\n<p>The sales process of wood raw materials is designed in such a way that it generates price increases. This threatens to lose the competitiveness of the Polish industry on foreign markets. If we don't sell furniture, we will have to lay off people. It can't be explained in simpler terms, he says.<\/p>\n<p>The organization claims that its representatives requested a change in the rules for selling wood. However, their arguments were not heard.<\/p>\n<p>\"After the implementation of the sales rules - once again without acceptance from the industry - it can be concluded that consultations with the current LP management are pointless and do not provide any chance of achieving a consensus that takes into account the interests of both parties,\" we read in the Chamber's announcement.<\/p>\n<p>From the very beginning, you needed talks with us only for propaganda reasons. Getting to know our opinions and, most importantly, taking them into account was completely out of the question. It is very sad that the General Directorate of the State Forests is not aware of the seriousness of the situation and the scale of the economic crisis that is deepening - write the authors of the letter to the Directorate of the State Forests.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chamber, the state-owned company did not organize a meeting at which the rules for selling wood were to be discussed.
