There were active price negotiations on the Rssiaun sawlog market in October.\u00a0All sawmills, both small and large, feel the off-season shortage.<\/span> A large manufacturer of lumber from the Arkhangelsk region\u00a0posted an advertisement for the purchase of softwood sawlogs of14 cm long, 4-6 m at 4,500 rubles\/m\u00b3 (excluding VAT, at the factory) the equivalent of\u00a0\u20ac45.56\/m3.\u00a0In the northwestern regions of the Tver region\u00a0spruce sawlogs were offered at 5000-5500 rubles\/m\u00b3 (excluding VAT and delivery costs) the equivalent of\u00a0\u20ac50.85-55.35\/m3.\u00a0At one of the large factories in the Vologda region\u2014 5500 rub.\/m\u00b3 (\u20ac55.35\/m3) without VAT.<\/p>\n

Two factors influence the development of the price situation in the Russian sawlog market.\u00a0Firstly, supply is currently clearly lagging behind demand due to the off-season.\u00a0Secondly, the price on the Chinese market has increased since the end of September.\u00a0Thus, the price for spruce lumber in the port of China in October was fixed at 1900 yuan\/m\u00b3 (KD, grade 1-4) or\u00a0\u20ac247.22\/m3.\u00a0When calculating the price, netback for a sawmill in the North-West can be 22.5-23 thousand rubles\/m\u00b3 (\u20ac218.82-233.65\/m3).\u00a0Since March, China has not shown any significant surges in the volume of Russian purchases.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
