The demand for softwood sawlogs in Germany is differentiated: While domestic demand is restrained, exports are lively.<\/span><\/p>\n

Firewood is also in high demand because many consumers are increasingly heating with fireplaces or switching to wood heating. Firewood therefore serves as a downward price brake, especially for lower-quality hardwoods.<\/p>\n

The driving force behind this is the war in Ukraine and the energy crisis it caused. They also have a significant influence on price developments. Firewood is already scarce in some regions - and quite expensive. The situation could get even worse in the fall.<\/p>\n

How much does which wood cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main range for spruce, sections 2b+ in quality BC, currently costs 70 to 80 \u20ac\/m3 beetle wood is around 50 to 70 \u20ac\/m3, although it is significantly more expensive in the wood-poor west of the country than in the rest of Lower Saxony. The pine is 10 to 20 \u20ac\/m3 lower, again with the exception of western Lower Saxony, where it almost comes close to the spruce.<\/p>\n

Beech logs B remain stable compared to the previous year, while C grades fell by around 10%. Overall, oak prices are stable compared to last season.<\/p>\n

Hardwood firewood costs 40 to 60 \u20ac\/m3 on the forest road, softwood firewood costs 25 to 45 \u20ac\/m3.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
