During the third quarter of 2023, there was a significant increase in the prices of sawlog and pulpwood when compared to the second quarter of the same year<span id=\"more-33989\"><\/span>, as reported by the Swedish Forest Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Sawlog prices witnessed an 8% increase, while pulpwood prices rose by almost 6%. Regionally, Svealand saw the most significant rise in sawlog prices, with an 11% increase, followed by G\u00f6taland at 7%. However, Norra Norrland experienced only a 1% rise, while S\u00f6dra Norrland saw a 1% decrease in sawlog prices.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to pulpwood prices, Svealand and G\u00f6taland registered a 6% increase, while S\u00f6dra Norrland saw a 2% rise. In contrast, prices in Norra Norrland remained unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Comparing these figures with the third quarter of 2022, the overall trend indicates a continued increase in roundwood prices. Sawlog prices rose by 14%, with Svealand leading the regions with a 16% increase, followed by G\u00f6taland at 14%, and S\u00f6dra and Norra Norrland at 4% and 8%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Pulpwood prices showed a substantial surge of 37% compared to the third quarter of 2022. Svealand recorded the highest increase at 46%, while S\u00f6dra and Norra Norrland followed closely with almost 39% and 36% respectively. G\u00f6taland experienced a 30% increase in pulpwood prices.<\/p>\n<p>Swedish Forest Agency anticipates lower forest felling in 2023. The gross felling for 2023 is estimated to approximately 93 million m3 standing volume in Sweden.
