In most of Europe, Russia, China, South-East Asia, Brazil, and North America, the majority of companies reported a decline in their revenues in the first half of 2023. On the other hand, a majority of companies in Spain, Ukraine, Australia, India, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Central Asia, Africa, and South America (excluding Brazil) reported revenue growth.<\/p>\n<p>On the second question, \"Would you say that the economic environment is improving for your business?\" 66% of the companies responded negatively. Once again, sentiments in most of Europe, Russia, China, Brazil, and North America were pessimistic. In the second half, Spain, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia\/UAE joined this group in experiencing a deterioration in business sentiment. Conversely, a majority of companies in Australia, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Central Asia, Vietnam, Africa, and South America (excluding Brazil) reported an improvement in business sentiment in the second half of 2023. These responses align with feedback received from companies using GWMI and from various business indicators. While challenges persist in North America, China, and Europe, bright spots are emerging in other regions. For instance, Turkey is benefiting from cost-effective Russian supply and the strength of its traditional export markets in Central Asia, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. The Indian economy continues to perform strongly, with importers expressing a broadly positive outlook. Vietnam is witnessing an improvement as export markets adjust due to restocking.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the third question, \"Do you expect to have revenue growth in 2024?\" 64% of companies answered in the affirmative.
