It is more than half less than the previous year, according to the statistics of the Finnish Natural Resources Agency . Of the imported wood, 54 percent was fiber wood, 29 percent wood chips and three percent log wood.

Due to the sanctions, the import of wood and chips from Russia practically stopped completely in July, thus Russia's share of the entire year's wood import fell to 26 percent. Estonia's share rose to 23 and Latvia's to 21 percent. 19 percent of the wood came from Sweden.

Even though Estonia's share of total imports increased, the amount of imports from Estonia did not increase, but decreased by ten percent to 1.3 million cubic meters. Imports from Latvia rose slightly to 1.2 million cubic meters and imports from Sweden almost 900,000 cubic meters.

There was an increase of 200 percent.
