Due to the general economic downturn, the export volumes of timber companies in Southeast Estonia have decreased, and those companies that sell their products to Scandinavia are in a particularly difficult situation.<\/p>\n
Just like most Estonian timber companies, the company Hobbiton, which builds log houses near R\u00e4pina, has had to adapt to the decrease in export volumes.<\/p>\n
\"There isn't as much demand from the Nordics anymore, the most important reason for that is the significant weakening of the local currencies in Norway and Sweden. All of our houses that we build in Norway and Sweden have become somewhere between 20 and 25 percent more expensive over the year,\" Hobbiton said. O\u00dc board member Ragner L\u00f5bu.<\/p>\n
Although the decrease in lumber prices offers some relief to furniture makers, they still have to lower the prices of their products in order to retain both foreign and domestic customers.<\/p>\n

Based on this, a big price war is going on ,\" said Remo Allikas, CEO of V\u00f5ru Empak AS.<\/p>\n
The managers of the wooden constructions manufacturer do not make long-term plans, during the economic recession the most important thing is to keep the production going.<\/p>\n
