One solid meter without bark corresponds to one cubic meter (m\u00b3) of pure wood mass.\">cubic <em>meters<\/em><\/dfn><em>\u00a0<\/em>in the current 2024 financial year.\u00a0The 2024 financial year of BaySF covers the period from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>This corresponds to a reduction of around 20 percent in the felling of fresh softwood previously planned for the current financial year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the reasons for the reduction in felling of fresh wood are, on the one hand, the higher numbers of bark beetles occurring primarily in northern Bavaria and, on the other hand, the restrained demand for fresh softwood logs.\u00a0\u201cThe economic context, especially in the construction industry in Germany, are also having an impact on the demand for wood.\u00a0The state forests are now reacting to this by withdrawing the supply of fresh spruce and pine,\" said a company spokesman.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bavarian State Forests (BaySF), based in Regensburg, are reducing their fresh softwood felling by 600,000 solid\u00a0cubic meters\u00a0in the current 2024 financial year.\u00a0The 2024 financial year of BaySF covers the period from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
