More than 240 participants from the German timber and forestry sector will convene in Stuttgart for the annual German Timber Congress to discuss the issues of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n The event on November 8 and 9, held by the German Sawmill and Timber Industry Association (DeSH), focuses on the \u201cchanges of our time\u201d and their effects on politics, society and the economy. With prominent guest contributions, the event highlights the opportunities of this transformation process and shows how change can be shaped with wood.<\/p>\n \u201cInternational crises, economic developments and political initiatives are affecting the environment for people and companies at an ever faster pace,\u201d said DeSH managing director Lars Schmidt.<\/p>\n \u201cThe effects bring great challenges, at the same time there are numerous opportunities for the forest and timber industry.
