In the first half of this year it rose further to almost 7.8%.\u00a0German deliveries in 2022 were 18% larger than in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In the first quarter, the USA imported more softwood lumber from the majority of the major supplier countries than in the same period of the previous year.\u00a0The largest absolute increases are reported for Germany (+231,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bSweden (+99,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bFinland (+34,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bBelgium (+16,000 m\u00b3) and Latvia and Norway (both +13,000 m\u00b3).<\/p>\n<p>Deliveries declined primarily from Canada (-1.3 million m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bbut also from Austria (-44,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bChile (-37,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bRomania (-35,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bBrazil (-31,000 m\u00b3) and China (-27,000 m\u00b3), \u200b\u200bArgentina (-17,000 m\u00b3) and New Zealand (-12,000 m\u00b3).<\/p>\n<p>Comparing the first half of this year with the first half of 2022, based on the US dollar, 1 USD = 0.925 euros, results in a price reduction for Canadian deliveries of 51%.\u00a0Deliveries from the EU countries are on average 41% lower per cubic meter than in the first half of 2022. For deliveries from Germany, the American foreign trade statistics report a price decline of 45% on a dollar basis.
